The Queer Uprising that Changed History

Stonewall: The Definitive Story of the LGBTQ Rights Uprising that Changed America is a seminal exploration of queer liberation's birth and the LGBTQ+ activists who made it possible, including legends Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera. It is the book you should have on your shelf about the riots that changed the course of history.

This month, I had the honor of sitting down with my friend and The Book of Queer colleague Professor Jenn M. Jackson to discuss Stonewall. They are an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University in the department of Political Science, and their forthcoming book Black Women Taught Us (Random House Press, 2023) is a history of Black women’s activism, movement organizing, and philosophical work.
